bilge pump discussion

It's Saturday December 2nd in Austin Texas it's in the high 50s low 60s it's kind of pleasant but still cloudy. I I installed my bilge pump earlier this week but I found that the automatic line was open so that the pump would not pump automatically so today I replaced the line with some 12 gauge wire that I had in the shed and now it pumps automatically the bilge pump that is.
I hope now that when it rains the bilge pump will pump the water out of the boat without me having to do anything. And of course when the boat is afloat it'll pump the water out that comes in.

I tried to go sailing at Lake Somerville spent most of the morning trying to raise the mast. Once we had the mast up we went to launch the boat and found that the motor wouldn't run so we pulled the boat back out and I noticed in the morning that the bow eye was loose. On the way home there was some traffic on 290 coming in. The Launch

On Thursday we got up messed around a little bit got out to the marina about 10:00 a.m. when I went into the marina office to say we wanted to launch, she said I could set up the boat on the north side of the parking lot. The problem with this plan was that by 10:00 the parking lot at the marina is full of cars for in the same Center there are five or six fishing and swimming and snorkeling excursions as well as three restaurants. So the parking lot is basically full by 10:00. We decided to go back to the hotel book another night. We parked the boat behind the hotel. We went sightseeing. Jim and I spent the afternoon touring the port Isabella lighthouse park  and the Port Isabel historical museum which resides in an old hardware store. We had a good time. For dinner we got some stuff at Walmart went back to the motel and I turned in early about 7:00 so we could get up early the next day to prepare the boat and launch.
