Motor sailing New years eve

The weather forecast for January 31st 2022 was warm and sunny the high was supposed to be in the seventies so I decided to go sailing Bagatelle.
I scheduled to meet up at the dam Park on lake Travis and I had two women and a man sign up the man dropped out. The two women were Cynthia and Barbara. I got to the park about 10 10:00 and started to set up Barbara showed up first climb up on the boat sat around while I prepared. Cynthia showed up so I proceeded to set up the boat it probably took me 2 hours to set up the boat the women tried to be helpful but I did most the work myself.
One problem that became apparent right away was it tear in the jib sail.
The wind had come up and I was afraid that the jib would tear further in that wind. So I took the ladder, put it on the four deck and pulled the jib down and off the fore stay.
When I had backed Bagatelle down to the bottom of the ramp and was preparing to put her in the water Cynthia volunteered to drive the truck so we swap places I climbed into the boat she backed us down until the motor was wet I started at the motor and backed off the trailer.
There was a Catalina that had been towed to the dock and a large motor speed boat on the dock so we had to circle around for a bit untill there was space to pickup Cynthia.
After I picked up Cynthia I headed to boat into the wind to raise a mainsail.
I noticed right away that there was a tear another tear in the main sail.
So I bunch of the sale to the mast and decided we just go for a motor sale we still had the spanker up.
I took the helm inside the Pilot House and motored over to Volente.
The girls had a good time talking about singing the choir visiting Australia and Europe.
When I got back to the dock, my first tried to doc going with the wind but I wasn't close enough and Cynthia couldn't jump on the dock so I came around and brought the boat up on the windward side of the dock which is better because the wind would push the boat on to the dock and Cynthia was able to jump hop off and wrap up rope around the cleat. I jumped off and finished tying up the boat.
I grabbed my wetsuit and I proceeded up to the truck to get ready to retrieve Bagatelle.
I drove to the restroom to put on the wetsuit.
On my way back to the truck I noticed that the trailer had become damaged. The starboard side bunk that guides the keel on to the. Trailer had broken in fallen off it's support, leaving the support sticking up. So I decided I wasn't going to retrieve the boat that day.
I told the girls the party was over and I would have to retrieve the vote on Sunday and they left. I threw another line around the cleats and the boat and the cleats on the pier to make doubly sure she'd stay where I left her. And I drove up to the gate of the park until the guard and my situation she said she would log it and I hope that the boat would be there in the morning.
I drove to Lowe's I bought a 12-ft 2x4 and some bolts to repair my trailer with and then I went home watch some movies with a wife and Ellen and went to bed.
