Bagatelle's top side Leak

While running the wires for my new depth/speed log, I pulled out my toolkit, the cloth one. I noticed the bag was wet. I believe there may be leaks where the life line stanchions pierce the deck.

When I pulled off the starboard side bulkhead that separates the cabin from the lazarette, I noticed the lazerette was very wet.

I cut up an old tarp, then hung it over the mast forming a cockpit tent. I placed a Fan in the lazerette, I ran it for a few days to dry the lazerette out. When it was dry I found there was rot in the bulkhead between the lazarette and the compartment under the cockpit.

I am contemplating a repair with fiberglass.

Last night there was a storm that blew off the cockpit tent. This was what I found in the Lazerette this morning

Under all the stuff is a pool of water about four inches deep. when I went to pump it out, I discovered that the West Marine Big gulp pump, that came with Bagatelle, is too short to reach the bottom of the Lazerette and pump the water over the side.

I will buy the Underhill 36" pump with 72" hose. More to come.
