trailer hitch discussion.
When I bought bagatelle I had the trailer refurbished since it had been sitting in the yard in Florida for 15 years with no maintenance.
The fellow who put it together put it together and it was seem to work fine except this happened.
the bolts that held the hitch on had been cut through by the trailer tongue while we drove across the nation fortunately they broke just before we arrived home.
So the first thing I did was go to Lowe's and buy some bolts to put in so I could disconnect the trailer from the truck after I had parked the boat in the backyard.
So now here it is a year and a half later and I thought I would check the bolts on the trailer hitch after I drove the 400 miles from here to Houston and back. This is what I discovered. Most of the bolts are fine.
The rear Bolt is somewhat the worst for wear the bolt I got at Lowe's was galvanized that's all they had and it is resting and very mangled where the bolt meets the trailer tongue.
I have purchased some grade 8 stainless steel bolts from advance Auto parts and I will replace this bolt with one of those and hopefully the trailer will hold together for the rest of the trip.
Thanks for reading this have a nice day
