traveling el Paso to New Mexico

On Friday I decided to start traveling towards silver City New Mexico. I didn't want to travel on any other route that I traveled before, so I went North out of El Paso on hwy 54 and turned left across the mountains as I headed towards Truth or consequences New Mexico. I stopped at Fort Selden, an old army fort built in 1875,now in ruins. 

I drove through the pecan groves in New Mexico, which is kind of strange but they are beside the Rio grande which is considerable amount of water this year

I got into Truth or consequences about 17:00. I decided it was too late to travel on to Silver City. Especially since I realized I had passed the turn off about an hour earlier. So I found a hotel using price line.
It was a Red Roof Inn across from the motel six I set out for. The Red Roof inn was less expensive than motel six and it had vacancies.
I walked across the highway to La Cocina restaurant and had a nice meal of enchiladas.
it  was a nice drive and Day.

Bagatelle Gin Pole Design Saga Bagatelle is a Nimble Artic. Her mast weighs about 150 lbs. I can lift maybe 50 lbs above my head. So I find it difficult to raise her mast on my own. Bagatelle bow eye replacement

I tried to go sailing at Lake Somerville spent most of the morning trying to raise the mast. Once we had the mast up we went to launch the boat and found that the motor wouldn't run so we pulled the boat back out and I noticed in the morning that the bow eye was loose. On the way home there was some traffic on 290 coming in. I had to stop suddenly and since the boat wasn't really connected to the winch it slid forward past the winch and so now I have some gel coat to fix. So I decided to pull out the bow eye that I had bought earlier and put it in the holes that were vacanted by the old bow eye. Looking through the hole I could see that there was no obstructions.The bow eye that I purchased was just a little bit different. Fort stockton texas I plugged in the car through the door into the room. El Paso, Texas at the Quality Inn. I ran the cable through the window which I could open and plug it in the room. Truth or consequences New Mexico I ran the cables through the window which I could open and plug it in the room. Albuquerque new mexico At the Red Roof Inn.. I parked close to an exterior plug plugged in the hallway, everything was good.  Crestview New Mexico at the super 8 I could open the window and run the cable through the window, plug it in the room. At The Quality Inn in Baton Rouge. I found an exterior plug by the pool charged the car there. In Lafayette Louisiana. I asked permission to run the cable through a door and plug the car in the hallway. In New Orleans, I stayed at a hotel.
