Second day in philadelphia
When I got back from seeing the Liberty Bell. I took the car to charge, since it was low in charge again. And I went to eat at an Indian restaurant after I after I came back to the car. I saw a Sign for a local show at the high school, to appear the next day It was Memphis.
So I went back to my room and I bought some tickets to see the show the following evening.
I went to bed.
When I got up the next day after I did my ritual. I decided I'd have breakfast at a local restaurant, so instead of walking directly to the train station, I walked 2 blocks North and down to the train station there. But when I arrived, I found the none of the restaurants in the area had indoor seating. Instead of eating in a restaurant, I went to a Food store and I bought luncheon meat and a drink for breakfast.
I took the train downtown to the station near the art museum. When I got off the train, I missed the bus and the next bus wasn't for another 20 minutes. Seeing as how the art museum was just 2 miles away. I figured I'd walk.
On my way, I stopped off at the Benjamin Franklin Institute Science Museum. I took a little tour there. It has some interesting exhibits especially for children on mechanics and physics.
The photo is of a diesel Aircraft Engine.
After I left the museum, I continued to walk towards the art museum. I took a picture of this statue.
I noticed people having their pictures taken in front of the Rocky statue, holding their arms up in a similar manner, then running up the steps just like in Rocky. When I tried to enter the museum I was told I couldn't because I had a knife. I decided to walk I walked all through west downtown Philadelphia.
When I got back, after my nap, I drove to see the musical. The problem I had was that the website for the play showed the address of their post offie box which was 5 miles from the venue. I was fortunate to meet some friendly people at the shopping center who told me about the high school performing arts center.
It is a musical about a white guy who fell in love with Rock and Roll, and a black girl who sang it. When he got it to play on the local radio station, rock and roll took off as did the girl. He ends up stuck in the radio station and living in the bottle. The girl comes back to town on tour and they have a smashing finalie song.
The show was entertaining. The cast was good, the singing was good, but the crew had problems with a revolving platform at the middle of the stage. They had made the wall too high, so that when the platform was rotated, the wall would fall down. They would instead have to haul the wall off-stage for scene changes.
After the show I, found an all night Diner to have dinner, then drove back to the apartment.
