Touring Erie Canal
After I left Albany, I drove up to the entrance of the Erie Canal I stopped the car in the parking lot for the first Lock and I walked around the lock take a picture of the gates in the water and the entryway to the canal from the river and the contest the locks are impounded by the gates. Then I took a picture there was a little Park to the south of the lock and I walked to the edge of the park and looked at the river which is right there beside the lock and then I walked across the lock to the other side took some more pictures.
I saw the visitor center for the Erie Canal national heritage monument from the top of the lock so I got back in my car and I drove into town a little ways to look at a church pretty close to  the lock. Then I drove over to the visitor center.  I went in to the center to ask for a key to the restroom as for some reason they keep the doors to the restroom locked. After I'd return the key I got some maps of the canal. I talked to the guy and The woman inside a little bit.  I went back out and got in the car and started driving along the Erie Canal.
I stopped in Canajoharie to take pictures and use the rest rooms. It was raining pretty hard while I was there.
Near Canajoharie New York.
Lock keeper house. One pleasant feature of this park was two porta potties. One handicapped and the other normal.
An unfortunate feature of traveling back roads is the lack of facilities.
I drove on past Canajoharie New York.  I followed the canalit till I got to Rome New York, when I diverged from the canal route I drove on to Oneida. One of my pit stops was Canastota where I sent this picture of the library to pat Drummond Cooley so she would know where I was.
when I reached Oneida, I stopped at the library to charge the car and found that the charger was broken.  I did take a picture of these flowers in the library
after I went to the restroom, I found a charging station on the tollway and the map said that it was on the tollway but it was actually on the free side of the toll booth, in front of the national boxing Hall of Fame, next door to a McDonald's which had a little shrine to boxing,  next door to a super 8 motel. I ran to a supermarket to get dinner. I parked the car at the charging station. I went into the hotel. I watched the movie until I got an alert from the charger that the car was charged. I went back out to the car drove back to the parking lot and I went to bed.
